Lives and practices in Busan, South Korea
RYU Yejun creates intimate heterotopias through her sculpture and multimedia works. Often placing human bodies in conjunction with commonplace objects or non-human creatures in uncanny assemblages, she visualizes the spatio-temporalities of our private comforts, anxieties, and desires. Treading the line between disquieting and cozy, RYU’s artworks also parse the liminal spaces of memory and its fragmentary nature.
