CHO Byungchul is a kinetic artist whose large-scale mechanical forms are propelled by his criticism of anthropocentric colonialism and capitalist extractivism of natural resources. He primarily uses recycled materials, junkyard trash, and industrial waste to create his works. CHO’s moving sculptures are often playful and otherworldly, and through their uncanny synergies, provoke questions of ontology, aesthetics, and ethics.
