Joydeb ROAJA is an indigenous artist from Chittagong hill tract area of Bangladesh, and the founder of Hill Artists Group, a collective of artists from 11 different tribes in southeastern Bangladesh. Through his interrelations with non-human nature, ROAJA celebrates indigenous and non-human inheritance. His work resists a primitivist gaze, speaking to entangled issues of ethnic rights, capitalist exploitation, and environmental preservation.
