Gerry BIBBY’s artistic practice is interdisciplinary: sculptures interweave with installations, performances, and art writings.
Most recently BIBBY participated at the international exhibition Maskulinitäten, organized by Bonner Kunstverein, KölnischemKunstverein, and Kunstvereinfür die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Düsseldorf. The exhibition explored masculinity as a phenomenon through contemporary art, and BIBBY contributed the piece Parallel Lines, which he performed in collaboration with Ellen Yeon KIM (born in 1985, Daegu, South Korea). In this performance piece, inscribed barrier tapes (originally from transit areas, such as airports) directed visitors around the room, creating an altered experience of the space. This combination of textual and spatial intervention is characteristic of BIBBY’s works.
