- Education Program, Exhibition Center System, Shuttle Bus, Viewing Support Program and Programs, etc -

As much as various programs are in progress on the top of exhibitions in the Busan Biennale 2014 held until coming November 22nd under the theme of 'Inhabiting the World', you can have an even more meaningful exhibition if you know the viewing tips. So we are about to introduce the ways to enjoy Busan Biennale 2014 even more.

Communicating with Viewers, Various Education Participation Programs of Busan Biennale 2014

In Busan Biennale 2014, various programs are prepared to receive viewers including a docent program and a participation programs based on 10 'educators' for more active communication with viewers through contemporary art. Docent program is the one to provide explanation on the artworks for the Main Exhibition viewers of Busan Biennale 2014.

The programs is operated three times a day (11 A.M., 2 P.M. and 5 P.M.) from Monday to Thursday and five times a day (11 A.M., 12:30 P.M., 2 P.M., 4 P.M. and 6 P.M.) from Friday to Sunday at Busan Museum of Art. This program that carries on for about 90 minutes starts on schedule time in front of an artwork named Not Vital on the first floor and reservations are not required.

Meanwhile, Participation Program operated on reservation basis is composed of a total of 3 programs. The program getting most favorable response is the Talk Program. A reserved viewer and an educator become a group of two people to have free discussions with a special feature of being able to have two-way conversations on artworks. It is performed for about 90 minutes at 3 P.M. every Wednesday, 5 P.M. every Saturday and 3 P.M. every Sunday. Not only that, but various programs are prepared in the Participation Program including student program that can be joined by each level such as kindergarten, low elementary school grades and high elementary school grades, etc or the invitation program to select a specific group to be invited to the art museum. Education program materials can be downloaded free of charge from the webpage of Busan Biennale (www.busanbiennale.org). Busan Biennale 2014? It's Not Hard If You Just Have a Smart Phone! NFC and Mobile Website

If you visit Busan Biennale 2014, you can often see viewers touching the wall with their smart phones. These are viewers using the NFC system and the mobile website recently attempted by Busan Biennale Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee).

The Organizing Committee has introduced NFC system for the first time in exhibition centers to provide artwork explanations in a little more instant and convenient way for viewers who are unable to participate in the docent program. NFC system easily used by anyone who has an Android smart phone is interlocked with the mobile website of Busan Biennale 2014 webpage just by turning on the NFC mode on the smart phone and placing the smart phone above a sticker attached to the walls of exhibition center so you can instantly see explanations on the main artworks by each artist releasing their works. This system is getting more favorable response from viewers due to the advantage of being able to see the explanation of artwork than the QR code system that had been implemented by Busan Biennale last year.

Also, the mobile webpage of Busan Biennale 2014 interworked in the NFC system is open for the viewers whose smart phone has become their daily routine. You can hear vocal explanations on the top of artwork explanations and a feature to write a comment is provided for each artwork to enable two-way communication. Also on the mobile webpage, various information including announcements along with the information on the daily events have been posed to offer convenience for the viewers.

Let's Use the Convenient Shuttle Bus to See All 3 Exhibition Venues

The Organizing Committee operates a shuttle bus on weekends and holidays for viewers who wish to visit all 3 of the scattered exhibition venues including Busan Museum of Art, Busan Cultural Center and KISWIRE Sooyoung Factory. Busan Biennale 2014 shuttle bus system operated by three 25-passenger buses departs from Busan Museum of Art every hour and every 30 minutes from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. except for 1 P.M. and 1:30 P.M. while also operating on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

The Organizing Committee has tried to offer more convenient transportation for viewers by also installing bus stops at the main spots nearby on the shuttle bus route in addition to each exhibition venue. The shuttle bus operates every 30 minutes 15 times a day on the loop course of Busan Museum of ArtShinsegae Centum CityKISWIRE Sooyoung FactoryKISWIRE MuseumSuyeong Metro StationKyungsung Univ./Pukyong Nat'l Univ. Metro StationBusan Cultural Center. Especially in case of KISWIRE Sooyoung Factory, the satisfaction of shuttle bus users tends to be high as it is located at a place that has inconvenient public transportation. Busan Biennale 2014 shuttle bus that can be used free of charge is getting favorable response to the extent of having 15 users on the average each time so far.

A Daily Post office that Can Even Send Postcards to the Loved Ones

There is something that you must take while touring the 3 exhibition venues of Busan Biennale 2014. It is the guide map to see the general information of Busan Biennale 2014 in a glance. While there are blanks to stamp on this guide map, finding a stamp tour prepared here and there by visiting all 3 exhibition centers gives another kind of enjoyment to viewers. A set of postcard is provided to viewers who complete the stamping furnished at each general information desk and an opportunity to receive Busan Biennale Newsletter is provided.
