Dong’s Walking Cloud demonstrates the various expressions of the ever-changing form of the cloud in the shape of text. The shape of the cloud visualizes the phenomenon of ‘motion amidst rest’ captured every moment, and this expresses the idea that stillness within movement is indeed the true stillness. At a glance, clouds seem to float in stillness in the sky, but upon closer observation, they move freely and diversely. This nature of the clouds is precisely demonstrated visually in Dong’s work.
