The Significance of Ear Gyung Hyul Do
(Map of Ear acupuncture point)

The 'Ear Gyung Hyul Do' is being used to symbolize the organic combination of wholes and parts as expressed through space and structures. It embodies one of the primary themes of the Busan Biennale, which is to celebrate the sharing of things regardless of circumstances. In this respect, the 'Ear Gyung Hyul Do' is intimately related to the subject of the Biennale : 'Everywhere'

: This map of the body shows an extensive structure of internal organs,
     which are linked to ears.

As a world-class international exhibition, the Busan Biennale 2006 will not only show the visual consequences but also the reactions of the interested parties and stakeholders, including exhibit planners, fine arts officials and, most importantly, the spectators.
We can use comical, liberal and pictorial letters to eliminate the heaviness inherent in the 'Ear Gyung Hyul Do.' Equally important, we must choose letters with high readability.
The main color red expresses the 'youthful' character of the Biennale and stands in sharp contrast with the image of the 'Ear Gyung Hyul Do,' which is black. By using contrasting colors, the pictorial effects are significantly strengthened.
